What is Crufts?

Crufts is a world-renowned dog show with a rich history that dates back to 1891. It was founded by Charles Cruft, a dog biscuit manufacturer with a passion for canine competition. The first show, held at the Royal Agricultural Hall in Islington, London, attracted a remarkable 2,437 entries for its inaugural event.

Over the years, Crufts has grown in both size and prestige, becoming a beloved institution in the canine world. Today, it is organised by The Kennel Club and takes place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.

Crufts isn’t just about showcasing the best pedigree dogs. It also celebrates the special bond between humans and our furry friends.

The show includes categories such as agility, flyball, obedience, and heelwork to music, offering a platform for dogs and their handlers to demonstrate their skills. One of the highlights of Crufts is the Best in Show competition, where the top dogs from each breed group compete for the ultimate accolade.

With its rich history, diverse events, and celebration of all things canine, Crufts remains a cherished event for dog lovers around the world.
